'MW' (i) was a British naval gunfire bombardment of light shipping and invasion barges assembled by the Germans in the port of Calais in occupied north-eastern France (30 September 1940).
The monitor Erebus, escorted by the destroyers Garth and Vesper, fired 17 15-in (381-mm) shells into Calais harbour from a position 8 miles (13 km) to the east of the South Goodwin light vessel.
