'Nora' was a German convoy operation just after the end of 'Weserübung' in Norway (14/19 June 1940).
The light cruiser Nürnberg, destroyer Erich Steinbrinck and minesweepers M 9, M 10, M 12 and M 13 of Korvettenkapitän Kurt Thoma’s 2nd Minensuch-Flottille escorted the 4,770-ton freighter Levante, which was transporting elements of Generalleutnant Dr Julius Ringel’s 3rd Gebirgsdivision from Trondheim to Narvik and Elvegardmoen, and then bringing combat-exhausted paratroopers back to Trondheim.
