'Nothways' was a British tactical deception undertaken largely to protect the move of the headquarters of Lieutenant General Sir Oliver Leese’s British 8th Army from the coast of the Adriatic Sea to the left centre of the line in the area of Cantalupo (March 1944).
The undertaking was primarily a radio deception to cover the headquarters' movement to an area better suited to control of the 8th Army during the next offensive planned by General the Hon. Sir Harold Alexander’s Allied Armies in Italy command against the 'Gustav-Linie' defences.
