Operation Passover

'Passover' was an Allied proposed deception operation within 'Sledgehammer' designed to persuade the Germans that the Allies planned to made their return to the European mainland with an amphibious assault in the Pas de Calais area (summer/autumn 1942).

The undertaking was suggested by Colonel John H. Bevan’s London Controlling Section, the British-based deception organisation, and when its name was rejected the plan became 'Steppingstone' and finally 'Overthrow'.
