'Passport' (i) was the British capture by Major General C. E. N. Lomax’s Indian 26th Division of a fire base in the area to the south-east of Minbya in the Arakan coastal region of Japanese-occupied Burma (12/26 January 1945).
The Indians troops were well supported , both before and after the landing operations on 12 January, by the motor launches of the Arakan Coastal Forces. With the landing completed, these light naval forces, in the form of the 36th, 49th, 59th and 145th Motor Launch Flotillas, operated with considerable success in the severing of the Japanese water lines of communications and the destruction of supply craft.
