'PB' was the designation of Allied convoys (together with a numerical and sometimes a literal suffix) plying the route from the ports of the Persian Gulf to ports in India, and as such reciprocals of the 'BP' series (September 1942/February 1945).
The first of these 119 'Persian Gulf to Bombay' convoys was PB.1 of 9/15 September 1942 from Bandar Abbas, Iran, to Bombay with three British merchant vessels in the form of the 3,935-ton Jalapadma, 9,182-ton Neuralia and 9,213-ton Nevasa, while the last was PB.92 of 16/21 February 1945 from Basra, Iraq, to Karachi with the 8,917-ton British Sontay.
