'Pendant' was a British landing by Brigadier R. C. Cottrell-Hill’s Indian 36^th Brigade of Major General C. E. N. Lomax’s Indian 26^th Division within Lieutenant General Sir Philip Christison’s Indian XV Corps on Sagu Kyun island, off the southern corner of Ramree island, during the 'Matador' (iii) battle for Ramree island in the Arakan western coastal region of Burma (30 January 1945).

At this time the brigade also relieved the Royal Marine commando force which had occupied Cheduba island, to the west, in 'Sankey'.
