'Petrel' was a British operation by the Special Operations Executive to deliver G. Fougner to German-occupied Norway (30 November 1942/10 February 1943).
Fougner’s task was to meet Norwegian resistance leaders and discuss proposals for operational propaganda. Fougner left the UK by sea on 30 November 1942 and eventually reached Oslo, where he met Bjørn Helland Hansen and Eugen Johannessen. Fougner then travelled to Stockholm in neutral Sweden, and returned to London on 10 February 1943.
