'Pregel' was a German naval minelaying operation to complete and repair the older parts of the great German belt of minefields off the west coast of German-occupied Norway (10/11 March 1941).
The operation involved the minelayers Cobra and Königin Luise, which were supported by the minesweepers of Fregattenkapitän Rudolf Lell’s 5th Minensuch-Flottille of Kapitän Hans-Casper von Schönermark’s Minenschiffgruppe 'Nord'. With its North Sea task now completed, the German minelayer force in Norway was taken in hand for overhaul and refit before being relocated into the Baltic.
