'Prelude' was the British movement of the headquarters of Admiral the Lord Louis Mountbatten’s South-East Asia Command from India to Kandy on the island of Ceylon (1945).

The move was designed, at least in part, to locate these headquarters closer to the next series of planned British efforts for the recapture of southern Burma, Malaya and perhaps the north-western end of the Netherlands East Indies.
