Operation Prien (ii)

'Prien' (ii) was a German operation against the partisan forces of Marshal Josip Broz Tito in the north Istrian region of German-occupied Yugoslavia (8/11 August 1944).

The German force was centred on two regiments of Generalleutnant Hans von Hösslin’s 188th Gebirgsdivision, whose 5,000 or so men combed the area as far as the river line linking Mirna, Planik and Jurdani but found little sign of the 1st 'Vladimir Gortan' Istrian Brigade.
