'Raindrop' was a British tactical deception by Colonel David Strangeways' 'R' Force, the deception element of General Sir Bernard Montgomery’s 21^st Army Group in the Normandy lodgement during 'Overlord', to divert German attentions away from an attack by Major General D. C. Bullen-Smith’s British 51^st Division by suggesting that it was to attack in another direction, toward the east, in order to link with a possible landing at Le Havre (12 June 1944).
