This was a British sub-operation within 'Countenance' to capture Khorramshahr in south-western Iran on the Shatt al-Arab waterway (25 August 1941).

The ships involved were the British corvette Snapdragon, the Indian sloop Lawrence and the British minesweeping trawler Arthur Cavanagh, and the troops were elements of Brigadier R. E. Le Fleming’s Indian 24^th Brigade of Major General A. E. Barstow’s Indian 9^th Division.
