Operation Regen (i)


'Regen' (i) was the German withdrawal of Generaloberst Ferdinand Schörner’s Heeresgruppe 'Nord', under pressure from Marshal Sovetskogo Soyuza Andrei I. Eremenko’s 2nd Baltic Front and General Hovhannes Kh. Bagramyan’s 1st Baltic Front in the 'Riga Offensive Operation' of the 'Baltic Strategic Offensive Operation', from the 'Riga-Ost' position into the Kurland peninsula, otherwise the 'Salaspils-Stellung', on the western side of the Bay of Riga (11/14 October 1944).
