'Rennstrecke' was a German unrealised plan for the aerial delivery of essential supplies to a body of troops supposedly cut off behind the Soviet lines (1944).
The existence of this pocket, at a time when the Eastern Front was characterised by great Soviet thrusts which cut off many German units and formations at various times, was later discovered to be a Soviet deception designed to lure German aircraft to a location at which Soviet fighters and anti-aircraft guns would be waiting to destroy them.
