'Repulse' was a British air operation organised by Field Marshal Sir Bernard Montgomery’s Allied 21st Army Group in Belgium to deliver urgently needed supplies (23/27 December 1944).
The operation took place in the area of Bastogne on 23, 24, 26 and 27 December during the German 'Wacht am Rhein' offensive, and involved the landing of gliders through German fire to deliver the urgently needed ammunition, motor fuel and medical supplies which would make it possible for the US defenders of Bastogne to hold out against the German siege of their position.
