'Revival' was a US air transport operation to bring US and British prisoners of war liberated in Austria after 8 May 1945 to France for onward repatriation (8/14 May 1945).
For this undertaking, each of the Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress bombers was flown by a five-man crew and carried up to 40 liberated men, as many as 20 of them on wooden platforms extended across the weapons bay. 'Revival' had carried 1,500 British and 4,000 US troops by 14 May.
