'Sauhatz' was a German undertaking in which General Siegfried Rasp’s 19th Army of Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler’s Oberkommando 'Oberrhein' withdrew Generalleutnant Hans Wagner’s 269th Division of General Erich Abraham’s LXIII Corps from the area to the west of Colmar in eastern France for redeployment to the mountainous Vosges area (January 1945).
