'Sauhatz' was a German undertaking in which General Siegfried Rasp’s 19^th Army of Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler’s Oberkommando 'Oberrhein' withdrew Generalleutnant Hans Wagner’s 269^th Division of General Erich Abraham’s LXIII Corps from the area to the west of Colmar in eastern France for redeployment to the mountainous Vosges area (January 1945).
