'Shrapnel' was a British unrealised plan for the seizure of the Cape Verde islands group, a Portuguese possession off the west coast of Africa, should Germany invade the Iberian peninsula and invest Gibraltar (spring 1941).

This preliminary plan was later absorbed into 'Pilgrim'.
