Operation Snapdragon

'Snapdragon' was a British special forces operation by Lieutenant Colonel W. Stirling’s 2nd Special Air Service on the Italian island of Pantelleria to take prisoners for interrogation and also acquire intelligence of the Italian defensive forces' strength and dispositions (28/31 May 1943).

The 10-man British party was landed from the submarine Unshaken at Punta Kharce, but was able to achieve little, its only prisoner inadvertently being dropped off a cliff, before being evacuated in the same way.
