Operation Snip

'Snip' was a British unsuccessful naval undertaking to locate and either capture or destroy a Vichy French convoy on passage to the Indian Ocean from French Indo-China to Madagascar (12 September 1941).

The British ships involved were the light carrier Hermes, the heavy cruiser Hawkins detached from the task of escorting the WS.10B convoy, and the light cruisers Enterprise and Mauritius.
