'Sonnenwende' (ii) was a German operation by General Kurt von Tippelskirch’s 4^th Army within Generalfeldmarschall Ernst Busch’s (from 28 June Generalfeldmarschall Walter Model’s) Heeresgruppe 'Mitte' against partisans threatening the security of the army group’s lines of communication in the German-occupied western USSR (mid/late June 1944).
