'Sosa 101' was a Japanese air offensive in China against the Chinese Nationalist air bases around Chungking and in the province of Sichuan (May 1940).
The operation involved the Imperial Japanese navy’s 1st Combined Air Group and 2nd Combined Air Group, including 120 Mitsubishi G3M 'Nell' long-range bombers, operating from airfields near Hankow and Hsia-Kan.
