'SPAB' was the designation of Allied convoys (together with a numerical suffix) plying the route from Chanel-Port aux Basques, Newfoundland, to Sydney, Nova Scotia (August 1943/September 1944).
The first of the convoys was SPAB.1 of 14 August 1943 with the 1,421-ton British Burgeo escorted by the Canadian minesweeper Red Deer, and the last was SPAB.300 of 9 September 1944 with the 1,421-ton British Burgeo escorted by the Canadian patrol vessel Agassiz.
