'Swine' was a German naval minelaying operation by Korvettenkapitän Hans von Schönermark’s Minenschiffsgruppe 'Nord' (minelayers Brummer, Cobra and Königin Luise), supported by the vessels of Fregattenkapitän Rudolf Lell’s 5th Minensuch-Flottille, to lay the third section of Germany’s great mine barrage across the North Sea, in this instance between the Korsfjord of German-occupied Norway and the Shetland islands group (22/23 February 1941).
