Operation Sylt

(German island)

'Sylt' was a U-boat wolfpack operation in the Atlantic against several 'ON', 'HX' and 'SC' convoys (18/23 December 1943).

The wolfpack comprised U-364, U-471, U-741, U-744, U-972 and U-981, and neither lost any of its own number nor sank any ship.

On 23 December the 'Sylt' wolfpack’s boats were divided, together with those of the 'Amrum' and 'Föhr' wolfpacks, into the six elements of the 'Rügen' wolfpack.
