The 'Tausendfussler-Programm' was a German undertaking, specifically ordered by Adolf Hitter and entrusted for its implementation to Generalfeldmarschall Gerd von Rundstedt, the Oberbefehlshaber 'West', to make all the preparations necessary for the deployment and use of V-1 flying bombs and V-2 guided missiles (21 October 1943/1945).
The order also included measures for the development and installation of the Hochdruckpumpe (high-pressure pump), otherwise V-3, experimental long-range artillery system with a range of up to 102.5 miles (165 km) and therefore capable of undertaking the bombardment of London from a site in the Pas de Calais region.
