The 'Thule-Stellung' was a German defensive position between Staraya Russa and Boizoye Uzin in the operational area of General Thomas-Emil von Wickede’s X Corps of General Christian Hansen’s 16^th Army within Generalfeldmarschall Walter Model’s (from 31 March Generaloberst Georg Lindemann’s) Heeresgruppe 'Nord' (March/April 1944).
