'Tin' was a British special forces operation to parachute a two-man Czechoslovak team into the Trebon area of German-occupied Czechoslovakia to assassinate the local education minister (29 April 1942).
The objective of the mission, comprising Staff Sergeant Ludvík Cupal and Staff Sergeant Jaroslav Svarc, was to assassinate the puppet regime’s minister of education, Emanuel Moravec. Svarc made contact with 1st Lieutenant Opálka and joined the other paratroopers in Prague, whereas Cupal moved to Moravia. On 15 January 1943, in Velehrad, Cupal shot himself during the Gestapo’s attempt to arrest him.
