'Tripe' was a British naval air attack on shipping in the harbour of Tripoli in Italian Libya (26 November 1940).
The attacking Force 'C' of Admiral Sir Andrew Cunningham’s Mediterranean Fleet comprised the fleet carrier Eagle, the battleships Barham and Malaya, and supporting units. The eight Fairey Swordfish attack aircraft launched from Eagle suffered no losses.
The attacking heavy ships returned to Alexandria on 30 November covering the passage of light cruisers Manchester and Southampton, and the corvettes Gloxinia, Hyacinth, Peony and Salvia arriving as reinforcements for the Mediterranean Fleet.
