'Viersen' was a US deception by the 23^rd Headquarters Special Troops in support of the 'Exploit' cover plan for the Rhine river crossing of Lieutenant General William H. Simpson’s US 9^th Army (18/24 March 1945).

Named after the capital of a district in Nordrhein-Westfalen, 'Viersen' simulated the assembly of Major General Leland S. Hobbs’s US 30^th Division and Major General Ira T. Wyche’s US 79^th Division in the zone of Major General Alvan C. Gillem’s US XIII Corps.
