'Währung' was a German special forces operation undertaken within the overall compass of 'Wacht am Rhein' (15/17 December 1945).

A few German agents were infiltrated though the Allied lines in US uniform, and the agents then used an existing Nazi intelligence network to attempt to bribe Belgian railway and port workers to disrupt Allied supply operations and thereby facilitate the German advance on and then seizure of Malmedy. The operation was a total failure.
