The 'Wasser-Linie' was a German checking position along the line between Lessay and St Germain sur Sèves in western Normandy (July 1944).
It was occupied by General Dietrich von Choltitz’s LXXXIV Corps of SS-Oberstgruppenführer und Generaloberst der Waffen-SS Paul Hausser’s 7th Army, and was abandoned on 27 July in the face of the gathering momentum of the US 1st Army’s 'Cobra' offensive.
