Operation WAT

'WAT' was the designation of Allied convoys (together with a numerical suffix) plying the route from Key West, Florida, via Aruba, Netherlands West Indies, to Trinidad, and as such reciprocals of the 'TAW' series (July/August 1944).

The first of the 17 such convoys was WAT.1 of 1/9 July 1942 with 11 merchant vessels and no escorts, and the last was WAT.17 of 26 August/1 September 1942 with 37 merchant vessels and no escorts.
