'Wedk' was a US deception operation, based on 'Wedlock', designed to create in Japanese minds the impression that the Allied 'Olympic' invasion of the Japanese home islands would be delivered from the Aleutian islands group and thus against the Kurile islands group, Hokkaido island and northern part of Honshu island, rather than from the central Pacific and/or Philippine islands group against Kyushu and/or Shikoku islands (summer/autumn 1945).
