'Weisshorn' was the German initial evacuation of more than 50,000 persons of Memel’s civilian population as well as heavy equipment and other important assets (ships and naval stores) from Lithuania in ships of the Kriegsmarine as the Soviet forces approached the city (7/11 October 1944).
