'Wowser' was a US concentrated air attack by Major General Nathan F. Twining’s 15^th AAF against German forces, positions and dumps in northern Italy, especially those around Bologna, in preparation for the 'Craftsman' breakthrough of Lieutenant General Lucian K. Truscott’s US 5^th Army in this sector just to the north of the 'Gotisch-Linie' defences (15 April 1945).
