'Zagorje' was a Croat operation against the partisan forces of Josip Broz Tito in the Kalnik mountain region in the Novi Marof area of the puppet state of Croatia in Axis-occupied Yugoslavia (24 June/1 July 1943).
The undertaking’s objective was to comb the Kalnik mountain region between Varazdin and Krizevci and clear it of the concentrations of the 'Kalnik' Partisan Detachment. The Croat forces committed to the operation were elements of the 1st Bicycle Battalion, elements of the 11th Ustase Battalion, 2nd and 4th Companies of the Ustase Garrison Battalion 'Zagreb', 1st Expeditionary Company[/e[ of the 14th Regiment, one company of the 1st Domobran Assault Battalion, one company of the 1/2nd Recruit Regiment, and one company of the 3/2nd Recruit Regiment.
The partisans successfully evaded the Croat net and there were very few casualties on either side.
