'ZC' was the designation of Allied tanker convoys (together with a numerical suffix) plying the route from the Panama Canal to Curaçao, Netherlands West Indies, and as such reciprocals of the 'CZ' series (October/December 1942).
The first of the five such convoys was ZC.1 of 5/9 October 1942 with the 9,807-ton British Empire Lytton, 7,698-ton US Esso Bayonne, 8,916-ton US Gulfcrest, 7,141-ton US Gulfdisc, 6,257-ton US Hadnot, 12,590-ton US John D. Archbold, 7,027-ton US Meton, 6,840-ton US S. B. Hunt and 6,950-ton US Thomas H. Wheeler. The last was ZC.5 of 30 November/4 December with the 5,444-ton US Glenpool, Plato and 1,783-ton US State of Virginia.
