'Donaustadt' was a German unrealised undertaking by Generalleutnant Fritz Bayerlein’s Panzer-Lehr-Division, based near Budapest, to occupy the city and disarm all the Hungarian troops in it should it seem likely that Hungary was on the verge of changing sides or accepting a separate peace with the Allies (23 April 1944).
