Operation Firecrest

'Firecrest' was a British operation by the Special Operations Executive to relieve the 'Pheasant' (i) team in the Hallingdal and Valdres areas of German-occupied Norway, reorganise resistance groups, carry out training in weapons, explosives and resistance tactics, and prepare counter-scorch activities (30 April 1944/late 1944).

The four-man party, comprising E. Madsen, B. Holth-Larsen, E. Lorentzen and G. Sætersday, was landed from the sea on 30 April and soon began to carry out weapons instructions. In the autumn the men helped with the provision of supplies for the 'Elg' base. From summer of 1944 the team also began to undertake sabotage in the area, especially against oil and petrol supplies.
