'Golden Eagle' was a British operation by the Special Operations Executive in German-occupied Norway to make preliminary preparations for what became the 'Elg' base, establish radio contact, and prepare for the reception of supplies and escapees from German mobilisation orders (August 1944).
The two-man party of M. Olsen and O. Sandersen was delivered by air, soon established radio contact, and in the next three month received 20 supply drops. The main team arrived on 27 November.
