'Hessen' was a German unrealised naval undertaking to position the weather ship WBS 8 Hessen in the Arctic Ocean between the Svalbard archipelago, to the north of German-occupied Norway, and Greenland (January 1944).

The operation could not be undertaken as the vessel in question was suffering from intractable engine problems.
