'Jitterbug' was a US deception designed to boost the apparent realism of 'Rosebud' in confirming the reality of Lieutenant General George S. Patton’s US 1^st Army Group in south-eastern England (July 1944).

The undertaking simulated the fictional US 17^th Division making a dry run for 'Viola II'.
