'Oxalic' was the British final objective for Lieutenant General Sir Oliver Leese’s XXX Corps of Lieutenant General B. L. Montgomery’s 8^th Army in the 'Lightfoot' first phase of the 2^nd Battle of El Alamein (24 October 1942).

This objective was a line running along the western side of the Miteirya Ridge to the north-west toward a point just to the north of Kidney Ridge. The other objective was 'Pierson' for Lieutenant General H. Lumsden’s X Corps, whose two armoured divisions were then to drive forward to 'Skinflint'.
