'Plan Y' (i) was an Allied unrealised plan for the reconquest of the central part of Japanese-occupied Burma (1943).
The plan could not be undertaken during 1943 because of Japanese operations and the Allies' lack of strength, but was then developed into 'Capital' (i) and then 'Extended Capital' envisaging a three-pronged advance on Mandalay and Meiktila (the British and Indians from the west, the Americans and Chinese from the north, and the Chinese from the east).
