'PR' (ii) was the designation of Allied convoys (together with a numerical suffix) plying the route from Piraeus, Greece, to the Çanakkale (Rabbit islands) group just off the entrance to the Dardanelles in Turkey, and as such reciprocals of the 'RP' series (February/March 1945).
The first known example of these 'Piraeus to Rabbit Islands' convoys, whose ultimate destination was the Soviet port of Odessa on the north-west coast of the Black Sea, was PR.2 of 25/26 February 1945 with the 7,244-ton US Mary Austin and 8,865-ton US Northern Sun, and the last was PR.3 of 2/3 March 1945 with the 7,198-ton Norwegian Vadso.
