The 'Walk-Stellung' was a German defensive position for the forces of Generaloberst Ferdinand Schörner’s Heeresgruppe 'Nord' against the Soviet forces of General Andrei I. Eremenko’s 2nd Baltic Front and General Ivan I. Maslennikov’s 3rd Baltic Front (August 1944).
The line extended from a point some 35 miles (60 km) to the north-east of Riga to Walk (now Valga), along the Aa river, Lake Vőrts and Tartu to the western side of Lake Peipus.
