'Winner' was a British naval mineclearing operation within 'Shred' off the coast of German-occupied Norway (22/23 February 1945).
The operation was undertaken by the vessels of the 10th Minesweeping Flotilla to reduce the length of the passage between the base of Admiral Sir Henry Moore’s Home Fleet at Scapa Flow in the Orkney islands group and its primary theatre of operations off the west coast of Norway.
